CHAIN OF ISLANDS: SEA OF FATE

There are hundreds of these Chain of Islands that reside north in the Sea of Fate. Here is one island:

The landscape of the island is heavily manicured, which gives it an orderly and esthetical etherealness of colors and shapes. The people here are scholars, artists, and poets as their robes (exomis, chiton, and chlamys) suggest.

Pasithea, Chain of Islands, Sea of Fate

The waters of Pasithea are very calm, as is the entire island life here. The island is named after one of the Graces - the grace of relaxation.

This island is 20 miles north of Aphrodite. It rests about 40 miles off the Eastern shore.

This is mainly a fishing island, but there is a heavy element of art and education. The natural calmness of the island has been magnetic to painters, sculptors, fine potters, and philosophers. The famous playwrite and poet Heridotinos often vacations here. (See the main thrust of Heridotinos' play, Caliptokos.) The island has several notable schools.

Notable Taverns/Bars/Inns: Iremia ("Serenity") (T) and Ypervolikos ("Extravogant") (I).

Iremia or "Serenity" (Tavern)
The tavern rests near a slow-moving creak, which can easily be heard from inside the tavern because the tavern has a quiet atmosphere. The noiseless ambience is due to the nature of the introspective people who visit and settle here.

Occasionally, a flautist fills the air with gentle tones.

Staff wear loosely fitted linen tunics that leave one shoulder bare, called an exomis.

Ypervolikos or "Extravogant" (Inn)
This series of stone and wooden structures form an inn. The structures are decorated with colorful flowers, plants, and bushes. The business is run by Figon Landmaster and his staff. Figon is a tall, thin man but he is not an islander. His cleaning and maintentance staff are islanders, however.

The interior areas range from rustic to extravagant.

Rumors

• A secret school of Hedonism is said to exist. It threatens the enlightenment which has persisted and grown over time in the region. Locals worry it will cause great harm if left to spread its insideous value of pleasure.
• A root used in a tobacco blend and alcohol is causing people to go mad. The consumption of this root is dangerous to the integrity of the island and the region. People speculate there is something more sinister going on with this root.
