The Inner Planes of existence are physical spaces and energies. The Scrolls of Kalieasus places the Material Plane at the center of the Elemental Planes of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air within the zone called the Demi-Planes. The Inner Planes are linked together by the Aether Plane.

Aether Plane (or Etheric Plane)
Getting to the Aether Plane, one must use a spell or magical item. Once there, adventurers see a misty place. They can look back into the Material Plane, but it looks grey and slightly out of focus. Looking deeper into the Aether Plane, it appears to be an empty void with nothing to stand on.

Movement
Moving on this plane requires thought. One wills movement in any direction.

Navigation
Navigating the plane to reach a destination can be tricky. It is best to have a guide who knows how to read the aether and has been trained how to will movement to a particular destination. It is not advised to experiment with navigation because stumbling into an elemental plane can be extremely dangerous. One could easily drown in the Forever Sea, get enveloped in fire, emerge in rock, or electrified in a maelstrom.

Creatures
It is believed there are creatures, like ghosts, who use this plane to observe the Material Plane to gain an advantage over their victims. It is also easy to use the Aether Plane to pass through boundaries, like walls, on the Material Plane and gain access to castles for nefarious purposes. Intuition tells us if ghosts can use the Aether Plane, then it is likely other beings use it, too. It is assumed many crafty adventurers use this plane to transport themselves between Inner Planes.

Ptah - According to his followers, this god was said to have created the Material Plane from the aether. It is believed Ptah lives here.
